I could wax poetic about rainy wedding days for a while. They’re moody, dramatic, and romantic — all great elements for photography. I absolutely understand the sentiment that rain on your wedding day is good luck! That said, does it pose some photography challenges as well? Yes, especially if you really wanted outdoor portraits. But, when your ceremony site is as gorgeous inside as it is outside - it really makes it easier. The Cliffs at Glassy Chapel definitely checks that box!

James and Erin had an intimate wedding ceremony at the Cliffs at Glassy Chapel, and while they tied the knot, a storm from a hurricane offshoot rolled through the Upstate. Luckily, these two were ready to roll with the punches and show off how beautiful the interior of Glassy Chapel is! With all that stonework and natural light from the windows, it’s pretty easy to create beautiful wedding day portraits here, even if you can’t make it outdoors.

The couple held their reception in downtown Greenville, at Larkins’ L Room, in a relaxed, intimate affair complete with a delicious cupcake dessert bar. And guess what - the rain let up a little bit, and we got to get a few outdoor portraits in downtown Greenville after all!

James and Erin, I’m so grateful that you trusted me with your sweet, intimate wedding day. Best wishes to the two of you for many happy years together to come!
