Pretty Place Destination Wedding with Portraits at Bald Rock

Here's something I didn't know until this year, despite growing up in the foothills of the South Carolina Blue Ridge. Why are the Blue Ridge Mountains blue? I always took for granted that that was just how mountains... were. The real answer is that the native trees release a gas called isoprene to help protect them from the Carolina heat. How cool is that?

And I have to say, that blue haze came in handy on Abigayle and Tyler's Pretty Place wedding day. It was hot -- but when we got to the top of the mountain, the temperature was significantly cooler, and the beautiful views more than made up for the slightly muggy weather. These two and their loved ones traveled all the way from Alabama to marry at Pretty Place Chapel, one of the most sought after views in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

If you're wondering how to take a page from Abby and Tyler's book and tie the knot at Pretty Place, check out my Pretty Place Wedding Guide! It's one of the prettiest (duh) spots near Greenville, SC / Brevard, NC to get married, but it has its own set of things you should know to pull off the smoothest day possible.

One of those tips Abby and Tyler followed was reserving some time after their ceremony for portraits at Bald Rock, just down the mountain. If you want to take full advantage of the beautiful views with no time constraints for portraits, this is your spot!

Abby and Tyler - thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! It was absolutely stunning, and I'm wishing you all the best in your life together.
